Makeshift Lullaby: Important News

makeshiftlullaby:

Family, Friends, Fans,

Today is a difficult day, and we certainly have a hard announcement to make, but I can assure you that it is for the best. In typical fashion, I’m going to of course elaborate to the point of near annoyance, likely with many random tangents and side stories. For this, I…

Makeshift Lullaby: Happy Spring!

makeshiftlullaby:

Hello all friends, fans, supporters, non-supporters, and Gelgimesh Lifeforms!

It’s been a mild winter, both in the world of weather and on the show circuit. We’ve all been taking some time to focus on our personal lives and make sure all of our chickens are in a row (or is it ducks?) to make the…

NEW POST: “Sometimes, I Get Talked Into Things Too Easily”

November 2010

If there is one thing that the music industry has taught me, it’s that you can’t be everybody’s best friend. As much as you want to try to interact with every single one of your show-goers and develop close personal friendships with all of them, trying to keep up with all of those people’s lives will drive you insane, or to drink, whichever comes first. Still, I do my best at providing a good ear and a shoulder for everyone I can. I’ve also discovered that, for some reason I’ll never understand, people believe I’m easy to talk to and, for more reasons that are slowly developing into a brain tumor, they believe that I’m a good person to come to for advice with their problems. I guess that’s a sign that I must appear to have my shit together… I know better.

NEW POST: 5 Reasons Not To See "New Year's Eve"

Every year, the holiday season comes with its fair share of excitement. How could it not? There are presents to be purchased, traditional holiday songs to be sung, family to share moments with and, of course, absolutely horrible seasonally-based box office bombs packed with more empty calories than Christmas dinner to leave us all sprinting on the treadmill for the spring solstice and screaming, “Please! No more!.” Yes, Hollywood has once again dipped its proverbial fallace into the warm, gooey, inevitable and overused formula of, “Enough Big Stars + Feel-Good Plot + Trendy Soundtrack = $$$$ Out The Ass” in the latest sugar coated holiday treat, 2011’s New Year’s Eve. By the time we reach Valentine’s Day in 2012, I’ll have diabetes. Here are the five reasons to avoid allowing this atrocity to taint another full year at the box office for you. After all, we have The Dark Knight Rises to look forward to next year.
